Warning! If Spyware Doctor is blocked by the virus then run your system in safe mode and try again. To do this reboot your system and tap F8 repeatedly as your computer starts up. Then run Spyware Doctor as normal. If this doesn’t work try renaming the Spyware Doctor EXE file.
I think Desktop Security 2010 has morphed since this was written as following the instructions did not remove it for me. Malwarebytes found a lot of files and partially disabled Desktop Security 2010 but not enought to prevent it loading on the next startup. I found that combining these instructions along with going into safe mode and deleting all *.exe files created on the day of the infection did the trick for me.
