Dr. Guard is a new rogue antivirus program, also referred to as scareware. Just like its predecessors – Malware Defense and Paladin Antivirus, Dr. Guard operates in the same manner. These malware programs will display fake virus scan results to convince victims into thinking their computer is infected and that the only solution is the pay for Dr. Guard. Just so were all clear – all of this is a hoax and once you have Dr. Guard on your computer, you must remove it.

Dr. Guard will download itself onto your computer through a seemingly normal looking website. 1)  Constant virus scans with alerts and popups. These are very noticeable and make your computer unusable. Again, all of this is fake – ignore all of the alerts and popups by Dr. Guard.

2) Computer hijacking – Antivirus 7 will take over certain programs such as your Internet browser to further sell itself to you. Also, it will disable processes, applications, and programs that are a potential threat to Dr. Guard. You can expect the malware to block access to task manager and block certain virus removers.

3) Due to all of these activities, your computer will run dramatically slower. Dr. Guard starts up with Windows and uses up a lot of CPU power and RAM.

Remove Dr. Guard Automatically

You may need to reboot your computer in Safe Mode with Networking if Dr. Guard blocks you from installing or opening Spyware Doctor – however, you must download Spyware Doctor from our website before you do so. To do this, restart your computer as you normally do and as soon as it begins to reboot, press the F8 key repeatedly (it must be pressed before the Windows logo appears).

Once you have pressed the F8 key repeatedly, you will come up to a option menu – select Safe Mode with Networking.
