Hello Tresa,

It sounds like you need to re-boot your computer and this time select “Safe Mode with Networking” instead of just “Safe Mode”.

“Safe Mode with Networking” allows you to use the internet. Try it again like this and let us know if it works for you.

Hey Dave,

Did you try deleting it in Safe Mode with Networking? You might need to try that. Then do a full scan with the removal tool and it should be gone.

Alternatively, you can try using the following “activation” code to activate MS Removal Tool: WNDS-4BGY2-JY4KO-IT98Y-7HJ43

After activating it, try to delete the folder in Safe Mode with Networking, and don’t forget to do a full scan to make sure the infection is 100% gone.

i have found the two folders that ms removal has installed on my computer. one i was able to delete but the other contains files that are access denied or write only and will not let me delete them. anyway around this

i want to get rid of My security shield. I downloaded the software and saved it to the desktop. I restarted the computer in safe mode, and unchecked the proxy box. When I try to run the spyware, it says that a network error has occured. But m internet proxy seetings have been set correctly. Since it is safe mode my internet is not connected.

Please help..

Hey Alma,

Did you try downloading and installing in safe mode. This is a critical step when downloading and installing.

You might also have to use this activation code to “activate” MS Removal Tool:
WNDS-S0DF5-GS5E0-FG14S-2DF8G

Activating MS Removal Tool can often help in removing it. But whatever you do, do NOT purchase a license key to it.

Try activating with the code above, then rebooting into safe mode with networking and re-download. Then follow the directions above.

My computer did download the spyware, but I dont see that its scanning anything. What can I do? Im trying to remove MS Removal Tool… please help

Thank you. Removed Sytem Tool infection from Windows 7 with one Spyware Doctor scr version download. Security scan shows infection isolated and removed.

Hey Jack,

You can try using webroot antivirus with spy sweeper to delete system tool 2011, but most of the time system tool 2011 will corrupt any antispyware and antivirus programs that are installed on your computer.

You might try un-installing and re-installing webroot in safe mode to make sure it’s not corrupted by system tool 2011.

We are trying to remove System Tool 2011 from my wife’s computer. She has Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper, which we have been able to start by starting the computer in safe mode. Will this program be able to eliminate System Tool 2011, or will we need to get Spyware Doctor? Thank you.
